Here is a short list some of things to do and see in Kauai:


  • Lydgate State Park
  • Along route 56 just north of Lihue Airport is a perfect place to bring the kids and swim in the ocean.

  • Wailua Falls
  • North of Lihue along a dead end road, this triple waterfall used to be a cliff diving hot spot.

  • Opaekaa Falls
  • Located just over 2 kilometers from the beginning of route 580. There is a view point off route 580 with lots of parking

  • Hanalei Valley and Bay
  • On the north coast of Kauai, west of Princeville. This valley and bay are extremely beautiful and a must see for most visitors

  • Kilauea Point Lighthouse
  • Take Kilauea Road off Route 56. Built in 1913, this lighthouse has the largest lens of its kind and is the only one of its kind in Hawaii

  • National Tropical Botanical Garden
  • Access from Lawa'i Road near Poipu, it is actually 3 separate gardens. They are truely spectacular and admission is free for all
